Blake Lively Just Gave the Sheer Dress Trend a Romantic Summer Twist

Whether your style matches Blake Lively’s or not, her latest look is a perfect reminder that a white lace dress is never a bad idea for summer.

Last night, Blake attended Chanel’s 18th Annual Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner at The Odeon, joining stars like Robert De Niro, Jon Hamm, and Sofia Coppola. The room was filled with head-to-toe Chanel looks, but Blake’s outfit definitely stood out with its breezy elegance and seasonal charm.

She wore a white lace midi dress that gave the sheer trend a sweet, romantic spin. The dress featured delicate floral appliqués on the bust and was crafted from a shimmering crochet fabric with tiny cutouts that added texture without revealing too much.

Known for her playful approach to accessories, Blake layered on the details. She added sparkling earrings and rings, glittering ankle-strap sandals, and casually draped a blue worker-style jacket with white collar and cuffs over her shoulders. But the real showstopper was her bag — a rare Scarab Minaudière from Chanel’s 2019 Métiers d’Art Egyptian collection. One version sold for $30,000 on 1stDibs, and another is currently listed for over $51,000.

Even if your summer vibe is more laid-back than Blake’s red carpet energy, her look is a solid style takeaway. A white lace dress is effortlessly chic, totally timeless, and pretty much impossible to get wrong this time of year.
